Touching the X11

QT labs blog has an entry about adding Touch specific messages into the XInput protocol, I think there should be some similar standards for gesture based input devices.

Qt in the Cloud

Here's a proof of concept that I'd love to see fleshed out: bring my QT based GUIs to the web:
Qt in the Cloud with QWebClient

This would be even better with QML based apps.

color palette creation tool

The details make a product, and if you don't have enough time with your artist, kickstarting the color palette discussion can save lots of time.

kuler from Adobe is a great tool for exploring color palettes.

It lets you choose from a starting color, or from an image you've uploaded.

Smart TVs at CES

The press buzzed about tablets at CES this year, but I think an important trend not enough people are talking about is Smart TVs.

The whole internet is really available on your TV now, though it will still be a two year window for the user interfaces to sort out and for everyone to figure out what other viable use cases there are for these new boxes attached to your TV.

SmartTVs I saw and got to play with:
* LG SmartTv
* DLink Boxee Box
* Iomega
* Sony (google TV)
* Logitech
* IGugu
* Samsung
